All information found below is from the IRS. For the latest information on Coronavirus Tax Relief and Economic Impact Payments visit here.

  • IRS plans to relaunch Get My Payment soon. You will be able to check the status of your EIP 1 and EIP 2 payments. The status includes the date of the payment and the method (direct deposit or mailed payment date). Mailed payments will require more processing and mailing time. As more information becomes available, we will provide updates. Some people received their first Economic Impact Payment in multiple payments. If you received more than one payment for EIP 1, the Get My Payment application will show you only the most recent payment information.
  1. Depending on your specific circumstances, it may not be possible for you to access Get My Payment. Examples include:
    • You didn’t file a tax return
    • You didn’t use the Non-Filers tool by Nov. 21, 2020
    • You receive federal benefits and we don’t have enough information for you to access the application

Otherwise, you should be able to access Get My Payment once you verify your identity.

  • No. EIP Cards are direct debit cards that were mailed to some taxpayers; the original debit cards will not be “reloaded.” New EIP Cards will be issued to some individuals chosen to receive their EIP 2 payment on an EIP Card. If you received an EIP Card for EIP 1, it does not mean you will receive an EIP Card for EIP 2. People not receiving a direct deposit should carefully watch their mail – either for a paper check or an EIP Card. The Economic Impact Payment Card, sent in a plain envelope from “Money Network Cardholder Services,” has the Visa name on the front of the Card and the issuing bank, MetaBank®, N.A. on the back of the card. Information included with the card will explain that this is your Economic Impact Payment.  If you receive an  Economic Impact Payment Card, visit EIPcard.com for more information.
  • Get My Payment will show the status of your second Economic Impact Payment and your most recent first payment. Some people received their first Economic Impact Payment in multiple payments. If you received multiple EIP 1 payments, the application will show only the most recent EIP 1 payment.

For EIP 2, Get My Payment will display one of the following payment statuses:

1. Payment Status –

      • A payment has been processed, a payment date is available, and payment will be issued either by direct deposit or mail.

2. Payment Status Not Available –

      • If you receive this message, you were either not eligible, or eligible but we were unable to issue you an EIP 2 payment. You will need to claim any additional amount you may be entitled to on your 2020 tax return as the Recovery Rebate Credit.
  • Get My Payment will reflect the account information provided on your 2019 tax return, Non-Filer Registration, entered on Get My Payment before Dec. 22, 2020, or provided by a Federal Agency who issued benefits to you (Social Security Administration, Veteran Affairs, or Railroad Retirement Board).
  • Your payment information cannot be changed. If you don’t get a payment and you are eligible to receive one, it may be claimed on your 2020 tax return as the Recovery Rebate Credit.
  • Your payment information cannot be changed. If you don’t get a payment and you are eligible to receive one, it may be claimed on your 2020 tax return as the Recovery Rebate Credit.
  • If you receive SSA, RRB, SSI or VA benefits via Direct Express:
If your benefits are currently deposited to a Direct Express card, your Economic Impact Payments will also be deposited to that card. The bank information shown in Get My Payment will be a number associated with your Direct Express card and may be a number you don’t recognize
