Security Alert from United Community Bank

Beware of Fraudulent Phone Calls to Businesses Requesting help with a problem ACH File.

We’d like to alert you about a recent scam targeting bank and credit union customers. Fraudsters may call your business, impersonate our institution, and claim there is a processing issue with an ACH file or transfer/deposit…. They may even reference the name of a person or business related to one of your business accounts. The caller will ask you to open a link or attachment they are sending via email or text message to review the information in question. This is a scam!

Please remember:

  • Never open links or attachments requested by anyone claiming to be from our bank or credit union, even if they sound familiar or reference legitimate account details, unless you have independently verified the request.
  • If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from our institution and asking you to open a file or link, notify us immediately using our official contact information.
  • If you or one of your employees accidentally downloads a file or clicks a suspicious link, contact us and your IT department right away. Malware may have been installed on your device, potentially compromising your personal and financial information.

Your security is our top priority. Stay vigilant and help us protect your accounts from cyber threats.

If you ever have a question or if someone contacts you claiming to be from UCB and asking you for personal information, hang up and contact us immediately! You can always call 218-346-5700 or stop into one of our locations in Perham, Frazee, and Dent. Stay safe and always protect your identity!
